Just Breath Adam, Zion Is Back In The NBA Bubble

Adam Silver and the rest of the NBA brass just breathed a huge sigh of relief that could be heard from the international space station as the news of Zion Williamson’s return to the NBA bubble on Friday night was confirmed.

Williamson, who left the pixie dust bubble, on July 16th to tend to a family medical emergency, will be eligible to rejoin the team on Tuesday after a four-day quarantine period.

The importance of Williamson to the future of the NBA can not be understated as he looks like the first true superstar to enter the league since LeBron James. To this point, Williamson has lived up to all the hype in his short 19-game NBA career.

Now it’s not surprising that the NBA has chosen to break its own bubble rules by accelerating the 10-day quarantine period down to 4-days for Williamson. The NBA over the last 12 hours has been pointing out to anyone that will listen that Williamson was tested every day when he was outside the bubble.

As we all know, Adam Silver and the NBA are masters of creating hype which is why getting Williamson back in time to be featured in the first regular same game from the bubble was so important. Silver has officially set the NBA hype machine on full blast mode as they are looking for huge ratings from the Pelicans vs Jazz on July 30th.

Entering the NBA restart, the Pelicans are 3.5 games back of the 8th seed Memphis Grizzlies. The Pelicans will need to go on a major run in order for them to have the opportunity to get beat by LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round. Clearly this is a match-up that everyone outside of Memphis wants to see.

Zions Statement From The Bubble

“My family and I appreciate the love and respect that everyone showed us while we dealt with a private family matter,” Williamson said in a statement released by the team. “I’m excited to rejoin my team in Orlando and look forward to getting back on the court with my teammates after quarantine.”
