Philip Rivers has guided the Indianapolis Colts to a 3-1 start in 2020, and along the way has treated the fans to a significant amount of trash talk.
During the Colts semi impressive win over the Chicago Bears in Chicago 19-11, Rivers took a shot at the Bears defense by telling them “he’s gonna turn a corner on you!” Rivers joked after his attempt to draw the Bears offsides failed.
Rivers who for the second week in a row a did not complete a pass to the opposing team has had a bit of resurgence behind one of the strongest pass protecting offensive lines in the NFL. He has been sacked just 3 times in four games and has completed 73% of passes which is a career-high.
The reality is his sidearm throwing style has benefited greatly from a line that can pass protect, something that he really didn’t have with the Chargers the last couple years.
As well as Rivers is playing, the secret the Colts success has been a ball-control offense and a stingy defense that in the last 3-games has not given up more 11 points in a game.
Sure a Philip Rivers 4 interception game is always a possibility, but the Colts seem to have Philips gunslinging mentality under complete control through 4 games which means the Colts are indeed for real this year.
