Can Jimmy Butler Really Find A Way To Take Down Lakers

The Miami Heat winning at least one game in the NBA finals wasn’t terribly surprising when you think about what a baller Jimmy Butler has become.

But can Butler really do enough to keep it going in game-4 of the NBA finals? In-game 3 Butler scored 40 points and recorded a triple-double with 11 rebounds and 13 assists in the game. The Heat had 37 rebounds vs the Lakers 43 in the game which is basically considered a victory for the Bam-less Heat.

Goran Dragic has officially been ruled out for game 4 and Bam Adebayo has been upgraded to questionable. Now regardless if Bam returns, if the Heat are going to win game 4, Butler needs to hit the repeat button on his performance from game 3.

Even if Butler scores 40 and records another triple-double, the Heat are going to need big scoring games from Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro. If both players can score a minimum of 20 points in game 4, the Heat will have a real chance of stealing another NBA Finals game.

From a bench perspective, Kelly Olynyk has delivered but Andre Iguodala is playing like he’s retired. The Heat will need Iguodala to come out of retirement and score more than 2 points if they are going to have a chance in game 4.

The bottom line is the Lakers are going to make some adjustments on defense which will most likely be geared towards slowing down Butler. This is why Robinson, Herro and Iguodala have to deliver on the offenses side of the court.

While I’d love to see the Heat even the series, I highly doubt that they will get enough contributions from players not named Butler to beat a mad and newly motivated Los Angeles Lakers team in-game 4.

The Lakers will win by 12. 124-112 is the big game-4 prediction.
